Centre for
the Image
PhotoIreland launches the International Centre for the Image on 17th July, a new venue dedicated to Photography and the Visual Arts, and an ambitious new cultural space at the heart of the Dublin Docklands. The space offers local communities and visitors alike a year-round programme of exhibitions and cultural events, creating an ambitious cultural destination that attracts leading international and Irish artists.
Celebrating the launch of PhotoIreland’s new cultural space, Rethinking the Image is a two-day event devised to explore, through a series of conversations, the value and place of the image in contemporary art practices and for society. Taking place from 9 am to 5.30 pm on July 18th and 19th, the event brings together local and international participants, ranging from artists to curators and researchers, and it includes the participation of artists involved in the inaugural exhibition Foreword.
In Conversation is a set of public talks supported by the Arts Council of Ireland at the International Centre for the Image, providing context, interpretations, and perspectives to help all audiences engage with and understand the artworks presented at the centre. Rethinking the Image is the first event in the series.
Date: 18-19 July from 9:00 to 17:30
Entry: Ticketed. €5 for one day, €10 for both days. Book your tickets online
