Information for visitors

Facilities
Visitors can enjoy the exhibitions and art bookshop during opening hours. The art library is a space for research and is accessible to everyone, although a prior appointment is recommended to secure access. The Atelier is a private space providing a workshop for artists and staff, and artist studios; the public can visit these only during scheduled Studio Visits.

Accessibility
The International Centre for the Image is a wheelchair accessible venue, and visitors with all access needs are welcome. To make your visit more enjoyable, please let us know in advance if you have specific requirements that you may need assistance with.

Mediation
If you require a guided visit or help with mediating the exhibitions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us in advance of your visit or ask one of our staff on site to help you.

Bathrooms
Gender-neutral bathroom facilities are available, including an accessible bathroom. There are no baby changing facilities currently available on site.

Resting Areas
There are two designated seating areas for visitors to sit and rest: one in the bookshop and a quiet space in the library.

Group and Guided Visits
The International Centre for the Image welcomes groups of all sizes and interests. We provide scheduled guided tours for small and large groups alike, within and outside opening hours. These must be booked in advance. To best accommodate your group, please email us in advance of your visit to office@image.museum.

Visitor Rules

• Backpacks and large items are not permitted inside the gallery space and must be left at reception.
• Food is not permitted, and drinks are welcome only in the Art Bookshop area.
• Smoking, vaping, loud music, or any behaviour that may disturb the experience of other visitors is not permitted.
• You are expected to respect the works of art on exhibition and not to touch them unless it is explicitly permitted to do so.
• You may use cameras within the venue, respecting the privacy of others. You should familiarise yourself with this rule by reading the FAQ
• The centre is a zero-tolerance space for harassment or other unwelcome behaviour towards our staff and other visitors. We define this behaviour as any behaviour that is unwelcome or offensive to the individual on the receiving end. Anyone exhibiting these behaviours will be asked to stop or leave. We will not hesitate to contact An Garda Síochána.

How to Get Here
The International Centre for the Image is easily accessible on foot, by public transport or bicycle, and by car. See Google Map here.

• By Luas: Take the Red Line Luas and alight at The Point stop. We are a 4-minute walk away.
• By Dublin Bus: The 151, G1, G2 and N4 buses stop in New Wapping Street. We are a 5-minute walk away.
• By car: From the city centre, we are approximately a 15-minute drive. Paid on-street parking is available, as well as at the Point Square Car Park.
• By bicycle: Various bike lanes bring you into North Wall from all directions, and many parking stands can be found in the immediate area outside the centre.
