About the Artists
Ulla Schildt (b. 1971) is a visual artist primarily working with analogue and digital photography. In recent years, her work has focused on humanity’s need to gather, organize, and consequently master the world – processes that have seemingly helped us to categorize and understand the world better, but that have also failed to understand its complexity and entanglements. Schildt has exhibited widely in Norway and internationally. Her works have been acquired by among others the University of Oslo’s Art Collection, the OsloMet Art Collection, the Norwegian Ministry of Local Government and Modernisation, the Møller Collection, the Art Collection of Region Skåne in Sweden, the Office of Public Works in Ireland, and Preus Museum in Norway

The starting point for the sculptural work by Siv Bugge Vatne is historical sources and science. A play with gravity and balance is typical for her sculptures. She describes her process as arranging materials and words until they establish an unfixed space of poetry and meaning, inciting slippages between the senses and the cognition. Her works have been shown at renowned galleries in Norway like the National Museum in Oslo, Vestfossen Kunstlaboratorium, Kunstnerforbundet and Nils Aas Kunstverksted. She is  represented in several public projects and collections such as KUBE, Punkt Ø, University of Stavanger and Public Art Agency Sweden. Siv Bugge Vatne is educated at Oslo National Academy of the Arts. She lives and works in Oslo.
