Since becoming a father, AdeY has sought a new direction to his work. One that encapsulates his sense of joy. So this book is a celebration of life, his family, and of living. But also one that continues to encapsulate his classic imagery of movement, dance, and the human body. AdeY left a career as a professional dancer, something evident in the photographs which combine photography, choreography, and performance. AdeY highlights our right to be different in terms of body type, gender, sexuality, religion, and skin tone with both humour and tenderness. The work shows the human body in its most stripped-down, naked form, but strives to create a non-sexualised and unprejudiced images based on the ideal of acceptance.

About the Artist
AdeY is a British born photographer based in Malmö, Sweden. AdeY’s work captures those little moments of social oppression, humour, isolation, anxiety and depression. It recognises that we not only change in relationship to our environment but that our environment adapts to what we become. The images depict imbalances evident in contemporary society today by directly addressing issues of gender, normative behaviour and how society forces us to choose one direction or path. The subjects show our venerability, loneliness, strengths and expectations whilst highlighting the correlation between body and space.

About the Publisher
The Little Black Gallery operates as a photography gallery, publisher, and art consultancy – specialising in contemporary fine art photography. The Little Black Gallery was originally set up by Tamara Beckwith Veroni, Lindsey Carlos Clarke and Ghislain Pascal in 2008, with a gallery space in Chelsea, London for ten years. Today the business, now co-owned by Ghislain Pascal and Tamara Beckwith Veroni, exists without a permanent gallery space, putting on exhibitions worldwide at galleries, museums, art-fairs, and pop-ups; managing artists; publishing books and magazines.
