Inhospitable, inhuman, and isolated, refugee camps across Europe share these traits. As stigmatised places, it is important to escape homogenising media imagery and see how these spaces are gradually transformed into self-constructed townships.
Set in the camp of Nea Kavala in Northern Greece, this photo-zine attempts to document the sense of a collectively stolen future while showing the perseverance of its community.
All proceeds will be donated to Drop in the Ocean, a small NGO that distributes clothing and supplementary food, as well as provides laundry, bike rental, and woodworking services.

About the Artist
Stephen Dover is a Dublin-based photographer who is inspired by amplified folklore, cycles of decay and boundaries that are part of contemporary Ireland. Stephen uses collage, masks, machine learning and sculpture to depict the hidden landscapes within the familiar.
His latest zine, Sluagh, artistically reimagines airborne sidbhe, or the Slaugh, who were connected to a broader motif of the Wild Hunt from Northern European folklore. Not quite an otherworldly cavalcade or spectral procession, Slaugh appear in natural movement like the murmuration of birds, sudden gusts of wind tethered to highland vastness or forest depths.
