Grow Wild is a children’s book, written and illustrated by Louth Artist and Illustrator Seán Cleary. It is a collaborative effort between Louth school children with an aim to promote a sense of optimistic stewardship of Irish Ecology among Irish youth. Placing children in the viewpoint of our native Irish fauna, Grow Wild asks children, “What if you lived in your own back garden or school?” From there, children are guided to assess their green spaces as suitable habitats for Irish wildlife. Could a hedgehog or robin make its home there? How could we help them?

About the Artist
Seán Cleary is an Irish printmaker, illustrator and artist; working predominantly in printmaking with a background in Lino carving. The process of carving white space to reveal an image has become so intuitive that it’s the method he uses whether working digitally for screen-print or by hand. Seán Cleary’s great passions have always been nature and narratives. The natural world is a constantly evolving story with creatures whose interconnectedness is unfathomable.
