In 2014, the program at the Centre d’arts plastiques Albert Chanot continues its commitment to contemporary art and making it accessible to all audiences. Painting, photography, performances, discussions, and lectures: artistic creation is celebrated in its most ambitious form. The program offers numerous opportunities for dialogue between the artwork, the artist, and the public, within the welcoming and intimate atmosphere of the venue.
The collection of modern and contemporary art that the city of Clamart has been building for over 30 years is being showcased for the first time this winter with the exhibition “The Collection Reinvented.” The call for submissions from promising young artists is open once again. This spring, Aurélie Pétrel will showcase the collaborative process and the many possible uses of her photographs in the exhibition “Partitions.” This fall, Thomas Lévy-Lasne will unsettle us with his world depicting contemporary life.
Art for all is at the heart of the cultural policy offered to residents. Contemporary art is the cornerstone of this commitment, thanks to a program that is both challenging and accessible. Outreach projects, public events, and awareness-raising initiatives complement the exhibition program. For over 10 years, 1,500 students have benefited from art education and participated in workshops led by guest artists through the 4Z’arts program. The year 2014 kicks off with the release of a calendar designed by a graphic artist. Fanette Mellier graciously accepted our invitation, creating a graphic interpretation inspired by the iconic architecture of the exhibition spaces at this unique venue in Clamart.
