About the Artists
Alžběta Drcmánková was born in 2001 in the Czech countryside. In her work, she moves between fine art, research, and documentary. Her practice explores themes of collective memory, violence, and materiality. She is interested in how memory and trauma are embedded in materials, landscapes, and bodies and how they can be transformed through artistic processes.

Born in 1995, Clodagh O’Leary uses documentary photography and she explores the relationship between tradition and transformation in Ireland. She is drawn to remnants of Ireland’s social and political past, exploring its legacy in current Ireland. Born in 1995, in Ireland Donal Talbot is an artist who explores themes of authentic perception and queer identity in his work, focusing on how we experience the world through our own personal viewpoints and experiences. Sadie Cook (1997) and Jo Pawlowska (1990), two artists based in Reykjavik, Iceland, form a duo whose practice combines photography, new media, and installation. Their collaboration emerged from conversations about fantasy/creation/imagination and exchanges on archives exploring gender, image, self, and non-linearity. Their work has been exhibited in Iceland, notably at the Reykjavik Art Museum in a solo show, as well as in Finland and the United States.

Born in 1997, Marcel Top lives and works in Belgium. He researches the topics of mass surveillance, privacy, data collection. In his practice, he layers a traditional approach to documentary research with a more experimental use of new technologies (such as facial recognition, movement analysis, and deepfakes). The artist uses these technologies to visualise and examine scenarios in which people can protect themselves and their rights by gaining knowledge and reclaiming control of surveillance tools.

Born in 1984 in Parma, Marco Zanella lives and works in Pianello Val Tidone. Trained in 2012 as Alex Majoli’s assistant, he began travelling around southern Italy that year, which became the basis for his ongoing project. In 2018, he documented Cotignola, resulting in the book Scalandrê, published in 2021 and awarded the Amilcare G. Ponchielli Prize.

Born in 1977, Mashid Mohadjerin lives and works in Belgium. She is a visual artist, storyteller, and lecturer whose work oscillates between the personal and the political, the visible and the invisible. Drawing on her experience as a documentary photographer, she weaves long-term poetic research, blending image, sound, text, and performance. She holds a PhD in Arts from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp.

Born in 1996 in Kranj, Slovenia, Matevž Čebašek graduated from the Royal Academy of Arts, The Hague with a Bachelor’s degree in Photography in 2024. For his graduation work, he received a stipend from The Stichting tot Steun.
